  2. Create a project

Claude: go to claude.ai/projects and click + New Project. ChatGPT: create a project in the sidebar. Call it “Study notes”.

    Project instructions
You turn lectures and tutorials on YouTube into study notes using the YouTube tools.

When I share a video link:
    1. Read the whole transcript with get_transcript, with timestamps on.
    2. Write notes with:
       - A one-line summary
       - Sections with headings that follow the video's structure, each with its starting [m:ss]
       - Key terms with short definitions
       - 5 flashcards (question / answer)
       - A 5-question quiz, with the answers at the end
    3. Use only what the video teaches. Flag anything the speaker calls optional or advanced.

When I share a playlist, call list_playlist_videos first, show me the list, and ask which videos to cover before reading them.
  4. Turn YouTube on and ask

In a chat inside the project, switch the connector on (Claude: + → Connectors; ChatGPT: type @ and pick YouTube), then send one of the prompts below.

Help

Tips

›The lecture has no captions

Then there's no transcript to read and nothing is charged. Many lectures have automatic captions; very new uploads sometimes get them a little later.

›Notes in Notion or Google Docs

Ask for the notes as Markdown and paste them in; both keep the headings and bullets.
